Quilt Market SLC Spring 2011

I had the amazing opportunity to go to Quilt Market on Saturday. I cannot tell you how excited I was.

Our first stop was to meet THE Darlene Zimmerman, creator of all those wonderful rulers, at the Simplicity booth. She demoed several of them for us. Now that I know what to do with them, I want to buy some. During her demo, though, I nearly passed out (literally). I had to sit down and eat a granola bar and drink some water. I was worried that I would have to go home so early in the day. Thankfully, the feeling passed and I was able to see the rest of the booths.

Here's the Kona Cotton booth. Thanks to Amy, I scored myself a Kona color card!

And Lizzy's booth. She had some really great quilts on display showcasing her 1001 Peeps line.

When many of us in my group saw this quilt, we absolutely fell in love with it. It's so simple, but so striking. Gray and green look so great together.

I had the opportunity to meet Jennifer Paganelli. She was definitely my favorite person to meet at Market. She was adorable and made us feel so comfortable. Kati, Kayli, and I bought her book and she insisted on a hug from each of us after she signed it.

Here's a big group of us with Jennifer Paganelli (and a few strangers too).

At Aneela Hoey's booth, we got tattoos of one of her girl characters. Thanks, Kati for snapping this picture.

Aneea's new line, Little Apples, is so adorable. I love the colors in it. Especially that blue.

Camille Roskelley of Thimble Blossoms and Bonnie & Camille was so sweet. Her booth was full of such beautiful, fresh colors.

Near the end of the day, I caught up with Heather and Megan from QuiltStory. They were at Market promoting their pattern company, Fresh Poppy Design. It was really fun meeting the girls who featured my first baby quilt last year.

Our last stop was to meet Allison of Cluck Cluck Sew. Her booth displayed her cute quilts that she was selling patterns for. Allison was the reason I started quilting a year and a half ago. I remember seeing a quilt she had made and it totally changed my opinion of quilting at that time. I knew it was something that I wanted to do if I could make things with such a cute, modern feel.

I'm so glad I had the chance to go to Market this year. I loved reading about Fall Market and Spring Market last year, and it was fun to experience it for myself.
