House Block for Cara

This month, Cara asked for those of us in the Sew Beautiful Bee to make house blocks for a quilt she's making for a family with a baby in the NICU.

House Block for Cara

I've never made a house block before, so I pulled out my graph paper and set to work. My original plan was to make a castle, but after measuring everything out, the turrets were going to finish at half an inch and I wasn't sure I could pull that off. So, I decided to improvise instead.

Cara asked each of us to add a bit of fabric from our own personal stash. I'm glad Cara sent me orange, brown, and pink fabrics because I was able to use this cute Carrot bike from Heather Ross' Bikes I Have Loved line. The colors worked nicely.
