A couple weeks ago, I spent a Saturday making nine 20" pillows. I'm happy to report that I mastered the invisible zipper. It took me four tries to get the first zipper on, but after that, the rest came together like that (*snaps fingers). I made three more pillows over the last week, making 12 in all. Since I ran out of zippers, the last three just have envelope closures. Here are a few.
Riley Blake's All Star 2
Art Gallery's Spellbound
Momo's Odyssea Front
Momo's Odyssea Back
Lizzy House's Red Letter Day
I know I've said this before, but I need a long break from pillows. I'm learning that I need to have a nice variety of projects/techniques to work on so I don't get burned out.
In other news, the Salt Lake Modern Quilt Guild is having a Kona Solids challenge over the next two months. We got the Brights pack and I'm excited to try something new.
I cut my charm pack into 2.5" squares.
We can add in any solids that we want (so far, I've added Kona Coal), but we can't use any prints. We can make anything from a pillow to a king size quilt.
I have a plan in mind and have started piecing the top of my quilt. Hopefully, it turns out the way I hope.

That top one? Riley Blake? Those fabrics were some of the ones that Heather used in Blake's nursery. See her blog and you can see the fabric. Darling pillows!
Wow, that's a lot of pillows!! I think they're all lovely, but my personal favorite is the Odysseea one. And that's awesome about the Kona challenge, sounds like a lot of fun!
