Carpenter's Star for Sukie

For Sukie's month in our local guild bee, she requested Cherie's Carpenter's Star blocks. She had such fun color combos within each package, but I chose this green and gray one. The green doesn't quite look as yellow as it does in this picture.

I'm part way through cutting my Figgy Pudding stash to make a Christmas quilt using this pattern. I can't stress enough how much I LOVE this block!

I also received my last fabric.com order last week. I purchased an assortment of Lizzy House's Outfoxed prints as well as some Michael Miller grays. Aside from Flea Market Fancy, this is my last fabric purchase for a while...at least it should be. ;)

January Bee Block

I tried to take advantage of the New Year's holiday by sewing a bit. This month is Cheri's turn in the Sew Beautiful Bee. She came up with this awesome tutorial for putting together a carpenter's star quilt block. It took me a while to trim the 44 half square triangles, but I was able to finish this block yesterday.

The block is 18.5 inches unfinished, and although it took a bit of time to piece it, I think it looks so good! The prints Cherie sent are my favorite color scheme (green and blue) so of course that makes me love the block even more.
